An Introduction

Before I really start on anything, I think I should say some things about myself.

I'm a teenager.
I'm considering a lot of career paths, but the major one is writing (not too shocking probably).
I have a pet turtle named Philip, who is in fact a girl turtle.
I read as much as I can.
I just want to grow up and start living my life.
I want to travel before college, but I doubt it will happen.
I've done karate for over four years now.
I don't think I'm all that great at it.

That's too many I's.

I've got some New Years Resolutions too.
1. get my license
2. stick with an idea for a story
3. write the first draft of that story
4. say "yes" more
5. learn to unicycle
6. help someone in a big way (the biggest way!)
7. get (and keep) a job
8. get into a good college
9. stop caring about what other people think
10. be happy about who I am, not wish I was like someone else

Those are just a few of the things I want to do this year. I actually do own a unicycle, I just cant ride it. And I want a job where I make at least minimum wage, not 85% of minimum wage. And yeah, I've really got some confidence problems.

I enjoy a challenge though.

An Explination

First, I want to explain the name of this blog for anyone who doesn't understand. A florilegium is a collection of different pieces of writng. This blog is my collection of pieces of writng; my thoughts, ideas, hopes, stories, and so on.

And I like big words, like florilegium. I think they're fun. For instance, take the word FLOCCINAUCINIHILIPILIFICATION. Yes, it is an actual word (meaning the habit of judging something to be worthless), and I like it.

Deray, as many people know, is something that's unorganized, messy, or confused.

That's what led me to Florilegium Deray.

There you have it, the method behind my madness.
